Our Story
People of Peony was born from a simple yet profound belief: that every individual, regardless of their ability, deserves to live a life of dignity, joy, and purpose. As a NDIS-registered provider, we are committed to creating spaces where people feel genuinely cared for, understood, and empowered to achieve their dreams.
Our story is one of growth, driven by heart-centred values and the collective effort of a compassionate team dedicated to making a difference. From humble beginnings, we have grown into a trusted provider known for our heart-centred approach, innovative service delivery, and unwavering commitment to enhancing lives. Our foundation is built on love—love for the people we support, love for their families, and love for the communities that surround them.

A Vision Rooted in Compassion
At People of Peony, we envision a world where diversity is not only accepted but celebrated. We believe that every child, young person, and adult with a disability shares the same hopes and dreams as their peers. Our role is to support those dreams, ensuring that each person has access to opportunities that allow them to thrive and shape their future.
We challenge societal norms that marginalise those who do not fit the perceived “norm” and advocate for inclusive practices that uplift individuals and communities alike. To us, inclusion is more than a concept; it’s a way of life, reflected in everything we do.
Heart-Centred Services
Our services are more than supports—they are expressions of love and compassion, tailored to meet the unique needs of each person.
Innovation and Individuality in Service Delivery
We understand that no two individuals are the same, and our approach reflects this understanding. Our team takes the time to listen, learn, and co-create support plans that honour the individuality of each person. We embrace creativity and flexibility, breaking free from rigid models to offer services that are dynamic and responsive.
By prioritising holistic care, we ensure that persons receive support not only for their physical and practical needs but also for their emotional and social well-being. Our heart-centred approach extends to our support workers, who are trained to create safe, nurturing environments where persons feel valued and understood.
A Commitment to Growth and Positive Impact
People of Peony’s love-driven mission reaches beyond individual supports—we strive to create a ripple effect of positive change. Our impact is felt in the lives of the persons we support, their families, and the broader community. We recognise that when one life is uplifted, the benefits extend far and wide.
We are dedicated to continuous improvement, ensuring our services evolve to meet changing needs and expectations. Through feedback, collaboration, and innovation, we aim to enhance the quality of our supports while maintaining the heart-centred essence that defines us.
Building a Legacy of Love
As we reflect on the journey of the past six years, we are filled with pride for what we have accomplished and excitement for the future. People of Peony is not just a service provider—we are a community, a family bound by a shared mission to foster growth, inclusion, and joy.
Looking ahead, we aspire to deepen our connections, expand our reach, and continue weaving a story of resilience and compassion. We envision a future where individuals with disabilities overcome challenges with confidence, families are strengthened by love’s enduring power, and communities flourish as they embrace diversity and inclusion.
Together, we are shaping a world where every individual can experience belonging, purpose, and love. Every act of support, no matter how small, contributes to a brighter future. Join us on this journey as we continue to make love the guiding force behind all that we do.

Hi my name is Jules and I am the HR Assistant here at People of Peony.
I began my professional journey in the Telecommunication industry in Sydney, where I spent more than 15 years. This experience provided me with valuable lessons in effective communication, problem-solving, and handling complaints. Eventually, I made a seamless transition within the same company from the Sydney office to the Gold Coast. Equipped with the skills I had acquired, I decided to venture into a new industry and spent the next 5 years working in advertising. During this time, I managed million-dollar portfolios and acquired new clients. However, the fast-paced nature of advertising prompted me to seek a change of pace. Thus, I bid farewell to the Gold Coast and embraced Toowoomba. I then took on a role with an unorganised photographer, which presented numerous challenges. Although I stayed for as long as I could, I eventually felt the need to move on. Subsequently, I entered the demanding world of insurance for 8 years, where I encountered a wide range of personalities. This experience helped me realise my enjoyment in assisting others. After years of working with customers, I found my current position as an admin/HR professional at People of Peony.
Working for People of Peony has been an absolute delight for me. My learning experience in Human Resources has been incredibly enriching and I have gained a wealth of knowledge in this field.
The opportunity to work with the People of Peony has been truly fulfilling. Through my newfound passion for Human Resources, I have acquired a great deal of valuable insights and skills. My journey in Human Resources has been a tremendous learning experience, allowing me to grow both personally and professionally.

While I was in High School, I pursued many different job avenues but never truly found something that felt like my calling. This was until I ended up finding Support Work. Doing Support Work gave me a new perspective, and fuelled a fire in my heart to find purpose and meaning. I continued within Support Work for ten years, before I started to feel like I wanted to go further with what I was doing. This is when I became a Client Services Manager at People of Peony. Three years later, I still love it more than ever, and feel as though I'm enabling individuals to live their best life.
I'm motivated to work as my best self every day by empathy and compassion. I go into all situations with a positive attitude, and am always happy to deal with situations with a laugh. When times get tough, I approach all situations with an open-mind and an understanding mindset. I strive to facilitate a caring, comfortable and empathetic environment for both my Clients and the Support Workers who offer me a much appreciated helping hand.
I believe that everyday is an opportunity to learn, grow and nurture your skills to allow them to flourish, I keep this attitude within everything I do, and I make efforts to ensure that I am being my absolute best self inside and outside of work. To enable this, I practice yoga and mindfulness outside of work to ensure that I maintain this perspective and allow myself to thrive in all situations.

We recommend you choose a small team rather than one worker, so you have more than one person who knows you and understands your preferences.
What if I bring support staff that I want to keep using?
If you have existing support staff that you would like to keep using, they can join our care team. Essentially, if you are happy with them and they satisfy the usual reference and all clearances and compliances, we are able to take them on board so they can continue providing your services.
